I know this might hit your inbox at a moment when you're either celebrating, relaxing, or pretending you're not still thinking about work… so I'll keep it short.

Happy New Year.

And truly, I hope 2026 brings you a year of steadier growth, stronger partnerships, and more moments where the work actually feels energising.

As you ease into January, here are three sharp focus areas I'd encourage every agency leader to carry into the new year.

1. Retention first, growth second

New business will always matter, but 2026 will reward the agencies who deepen client value, strengthen relationships, and become genuinely irreplaceable.

2. Build strategic partnerships, not service functions

Clients aren't looking for more outputs. They're looking for thinking, clarity, challenge, and confidence. The more strategic you are, the more loyal they become.

3. Double down on your client experience

High-performing agencies don't leave relationship health to chance. This is the year to refine your processes, elevate your communication, and upskill your team.

If 2025 taught us anything, it's that the agencies who invest in their existing clients, not just chase new ones, are the ones who stay resilient.

I'll be back next week with more practical insights to help you set up 2026 the right way.

But for today… take the win, take the break, and take a breath.

Wishing you a very happy New Year,

Jo
