Training Your Growth Engine

Your account team is your agency's growth engine.
They're the ones building relationships, spotting opportunities, and keeping clients happy. But if they're not continually learning and developing, it shows, first in the client experience and then in your retention numbers.
And let's not forget employee retention. Most people don't leave because they want to, they leave because they have to, and that's usually because they don't feel like they are progressing or getting the support they need.
The good news? Upskilling doesn't always have to mean big budgets. Here are three things you can put in place straight away.
Lunch & Learn
Rotate responsibility across teams. Ask them to share campaign highlights, client wins, or departmental insights. It builds knowledge, confidence and cross-team collaboration.
Block time for learning
If it's not in the diary, it won't happen. Encourage your team to protect time to attend webinars, conferences, or even watch short industry updates. Most of the time these things get pushed for client work, but the investment is as important as client work.
Peer shadowing
Have junior team members sit in on senior client calls, or ask seniors to join new starters in project meetings. Real-world observation is one of the fastest (and cheapest) ways to upskill.
Be careful with AI notetakers taking away junior team members taking notes, it's a valuable learning moment and ensures they are fully present through the meeting.
Going further
Of course, structured training accelerates this even further. Sessions that are deliberately kept small are more interactive and practical, ensuring everyone walks away feeling heard.
Spaces are limited. If you want to make sure your team is learning the skills that will keep your clients loyal and growing, get in touch.
